May 2010 Heli trip to Lake Eyre
Print

Thursday 13th May.   The weather is a little dodgy, black clouds, visibility at the Gap has been too low to fly through, finally at 13:30 we depart with a cross wind, rendezvousing with The Kid and Vanessa in VHN at Broadford, direct for Mildura.   We arrive at 16:00 and take 136 litres, Paul comments that it is cheaper than running the Kingswood!   We are greeted by Shakey, the heli’s are parked in his shed and we head for the Mildura Hotel for the night.

Melbourne's New Super Speed Cameras

Here is the new speed camera system that is being tested.  It's a cylindrical pole about 2m high with 3 Perspex stripes on it (hidden cameras, one for each lane of the highway), and there's some matching sensors on the far side of the road in the gutter.

When you see the stripes it means that there is a speed camera. The locations for these new cameras are listed below. The one in question is located at the bottom of a very steep hill. Of course it is illegal for a radar or mobile speed camera to be set up in these sort of positions but its ok if its fixed.

Tow Truck
E-mail

Freestone’s Transport tow truck services is a licensed tow truck operator (license number 08083) and offers to the public a state of the art heavy haulage tow truck.  This was derived by finding that we needed to get our own linehaul services moving without interruption when involved in an in-transit delay.
